After we are done, you are going to do the following: 1) Draw a small map grid of where you live. This map should show some of the different buildings, streets, shops, restaurants, supermarkets, and other places that are around your neighborhood. Once you are done drawing your map to the best of your ability, colore it neatly. 2) Once you are done coloring your map, write a descriptive paragraph below it. In this paragraph you should describe the different places in your map and where they are located in relation to other places. Also, don't forget to mention where your house is. Make sure you use the following expressions in your paragraph: lejos de, cerca de, entre, al lado de, enfrente de, and detrás de. Lastly, talk about a place you can walk to because it's near and a place you need to go by car because it's far. This needs to be done in your notebook, not the computer.

- Today your map grids should be finished along with the written component.
- I will be going over your map grids and written component with you individually. While I am working with other students, you should be practicing with your partner and talk about your map grid without reading. This will be your first oral evaluation for semester two. So, let's start preparing now. Let's decide on the date for this oral test together.
- Today I was going to be pulling you out individually so you would talk to me about your map without reading your written component, and I was going to ask you questions related to your map. However, since I am not with you today, please do the following. You will talk to your partner about your map grid. It is not a reading exercise. So, don't read. You need to know the information so you may speak about your map confidently and fluently (in Spanish). After talking about your map to your partner, he/she will ask you three questions in Spanish, and you need to answer these questions in complete sentences. Once done, your partner will tell you about his/her map grid, and then you ask three questions. Repeat this cycle twice (Each person talks about his/her map and answer questions twice). When you are done, each one ofyou needs to send me an e-mail about you partners performance. This e-mail needs to include the following 4 things. 1) Content: how detail was your partners explanation of his/her map. Where they able to say everything about his/her map? 2) Fluency: how quickly or slow did your partner speak 3) Pronunciation: How well were the words pronounced 4) Questions: How quickly and accurately did your partner answer your 3 questions?
